In listening to the show this morning, I found myself zoning out from shear boredom. While in this barely conscious state, I made a realization. I was thinking back to the days when Mr. was still on the show. Near the end, he would host the latter part of the morning show, and at a specific time every morning would host a segment called "Mandatory Mode." In this segment he would play music by Depeche Mode, one of his favorite bands. I'm not exactly sure how long this went on, but it seemed like for only a short while and then he was fired. Anyway, now they have Cort doing a nearly identical segment but instead of an actual good band like Depeche Mode (exempting their latest album), Cort plays music from U2. Let's just say when they told me to "Walk On" I was smart enough to follow their advice and not look back. They haven't produced any music worth listening to since All That You Can't Leave Behind. So of course Cort is a U2 fanboy. What a bloody shame. Anyway, could this be a 101.9 tradition before firing its DJs?
